Methodology & Formulas
This calculator uses standard risk management formulas to project your account limits. It helps solve the specific problem of tracking risk against proprietary trading firm requirements without manually calculating daily limits or trailing thresholds.
How the Calculations Work
- Drawdown Limits: Modeled by tracking highest open equity (for trailing) or previous day's close (for EOD limits).
- Consistency Calculations: Validates that no single trading day accounts for more than a specified percentage (e.g., 30%, 40%, 50%) of total profits.
- Risk per Trade: Estimated by dividing the distance to your hard breach level by your typical R-multiple or fixed dollar risk.
Important Assumptions & Limitations
Generic calculations assume standard EOD or intraday trailing rules. However, actual broker feeds, commission deductions, and swap fees may cause slight variations. Always verify your exact distance to a breach using your firm's official dashboard. This tool is independent and educational.
